HFB Community Resource Center (CRC), is a vital extension of the Houston Food Bank's mission to combat food insecurity. This center offers a free, neighbor-choice market providing nutritious food, including fresh produce and shelf-stable items, and connects individuals to additional resources.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteers are essential to the CRC's operations. Apple Core Leaders interested in volunteering can participate in the following shifts:
- Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday:
- 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Stocking, sorting, pantry preparation and distributions.
- 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Stocking, sorting, pantry preparation and distributions.
These roles involve tasks such as organizing food items, preparing the pantry for distribution, and directly assisting neighbors.
